Archery in Berlin: 6 places, free to €80 a head

Archery in Berlin costs from free to €80 a head. Six places with prices, hours, winter options and what two people pay. No club needed. Checked 30 Sept 2026.

Archery in Berlin: two adults on an outdoor range in a park, one drawing a recurve bow while the other smiles

Archery in Berlin runs from free to €80 a head for a first session. Of the six places we checked, Jäger und Sammler is the cheapest paid option we could price for two: €20 each on a weekday with hire gear, in a two-hour slot. The rest are clubs, courses or booked out.

We went to each range’s own pages instead of a voucher site, and the useful finding is the gap between them: a first session costs €20 at one range and €70 at another, and the one free option is shut until April.

The short version

  • Jäger und Sammler in Lankwitz is a public outdoor range with no club and no membership: €20 a person on a weekday, €25 at the weekend, with hire gear and a two-hour slot.
  • EST Bogensport in Schöneberg sells a 90-minute first lesson at €70 a person for two adults, €60 for four or more, and adds €10 a head on Saturdays.
  • Bogenakademie’s 90-minute beginner class costs €25 on every date we saw, and it had four open dates between 31 October and 5 December.
  • Three clubs let non-members try: Bogensportverein Berlin at €15 for an hour, TiB 1848 at €25 (no bookable 2026 date left when we checked), and TSV Berlin-Wittenau for free, Saturdays from April to September only.

How we checked

We read each operator’s own pages on 30 September 2026: price lists, opening hours, booking pages and FAQs. Where a page did not say something, we left it out instead of guessing. Prices are printed as the operator lists them and clubs and courses change dates often, so confirm when you book.

What two people pay

The price of a pair varies more than the price of one. Here is a first session for two adults, from the price lists above.

PlaceTwo adults, first sessionArithmetic

Jäger und Sammler, weekend€502 × €25, hire gear, two-hour slot
Bogenakademie€502 × €25, 90 minutes
EST Bogensport, weekday€1402 × €70, 90 minutes
EST Bogensport, Saturday€1602 × (€70 + €10)
TSV Berlin-Wittenau€0Free, April to September only
Two adults, standard price, no student or Berlin Pass discount. Bogensportverein Berlin’s page does not say whether its €15 an hour is per person, and TiB has no bookable 2026 date, so neither is priced here.

The six places, one by one

Jäger und Sammler, Lankwitz. This is the one to know. It calls itself a public range with no club ties or membership, and says no experience is needed. Every visitor gets a compulsory short briefing, and you must be insured for liability, which you confirm with a signature. Targets sit between 12 and 20 metres, and there is a course of 14 targets over 7 stations at 6 to 30 metres. Slots run two hours and booking is compulsory: check its live calendar, then book by phone or email. Hire gear is €20 on a weekday, €15 for pupils, students and Berlin Pass holders, and €25 and €20 at the weekend and on public holidays. Bring your own bow and it is €12 or €15. It is outdoors: rain is fine, storms and thunder cancel. We found no winter closure notice on the pages we read, so ask when you book.

Sharp arrows start at age 12. Under 12s use blunt arrows in a separate children’s corner at €8 a child on weekdays. Briefings in English are possible if you say so when you book. Compound bows and crossbows are not allowed.

EST Bogensport, Schöneberg. The most expensive first lesson here and the most structured. It runs its own 18-metre lane and its instructors hold German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) licences. The 90-minute recurve trial includes the bow and is priced by group: €70 a person for two adults, €65 for three, €60 for four or more, €55 for students, and €10 more a head on Saturdays. A four-session beginner course is €190 for adults in a group. The lane on its own is €20 an hour, or €25 with EST’s gear, and EST steers people who have shot before to that option. It sells its own winter angle, since 18 metres is the indoor tournament distance.

Jäger und Sammler briefs groups of one to three, and EST’s price drops as your group grows. Post the slot on MITRA and see who wants to shoot with you. Get MITRA on Google Play · Download on the App Store

Bogenakademie, Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. This is the gentle option. Its Level 1 class lasts 90 minutes, is taught to a group, and it says the focus is mindful, meditative shooting. You bring nothing; all material is supplied. The class is held at Ballhaus Walzerlinksgestrickt, Am Tempelhofer Berg 7D, near the U6 and U7. The site gives a price of €15 to €25; every date on the first page of the calendar was €25. When we checked, 31 October at 12:00, 7 November, 28 November and 5 December were open, and 17 October, 31 October at 10:00 and 21 November were fully booked. The calendar’s second page listed no Level 1 trial classes when we checked.

Bogensportverein Berlin. A small recurve club that says it has existed for over 50 years. It runs no fixed beginner courses. Instead you email and arrange a trial hour at €15, with equipment supplied. From October to March the club shoots on Sundays from 13:00 to 18:00 in a school hall; in summer it moves outdoors in Spandau. It does not offer field or 3D archery. Membership is a separate, later step.

Pick one from the table, set a time, post it. It takes about as long as reading this paragraph, and it turns a Sunday at the club into a plan with a person attached. Get MITRA on Google Play · Download on the App Store

TiB 1848. A sports club with an outdoor range at Columbiadamm 111. The trial is two hours for €25, cash on the day, with up to 12 people from age 12 and all material provided. It runs in rain, so bring waterproofs. The catch is availability: all five 2026 dates were booked out or cancelled, the last on 20 September, and the club lists its summer season as 1 April to 30 September. Ask the club about winter dates.

TSV Berlin-Wittenau. The free one. The club says non-members can try archery at no cost on Saturdays from 11:00 to 13:00 between April and September, on its outdoor ground at Königshorster Str. 11 b, using club bows. It says there is no winter trial. You must register first with the department head, whose contact details are on its page.

Before you go

  • Wear closed shoes and fitted clothing. TiB asks for both so the string cannot catch in loose sleeves. Jäger und Sammler asks for sturdy shoes and weatherproof clothes.
  • Check the insurance. Jäger und Sammler requires valid liability cover, confirmed with a signature.
  • Book first. Every place here works by booking or registration, and Jäger und Sammler is shut on Mondays and Tuesdays.
  • Carry cash for TiB. Its fee is paid in cash on the day. Jäger und Sammler takes cards.

How we chose these

We included six places that state a price or a free trial on their own pages and welcome people without a membership. We left out voucher marketplaces and event agencies. Clubs we did not check are not in this guide. “Cheapest” here means the cheapest paid option of these six that we could price.
