Berlin football tickets: 9 teams from €8, 6 sell on the day
Berlin football tickets start at €8, and Union’s men’s are balloted among members only. Nine teams, what each costs, who sells at the gate. Checked Sept 2026.
Berlin football tickets start at €8 across the nine teams here. The catch is Union: men’s Bundesliga day tickets are drawn by lot among club members. Our pick instead is Union’s women — same stadium, top division, €12.
The short version
- The famous ground is shut to you. Union’s men’s tickets go into a members’ ballot. Membership is €120 a year; season tickets are sold out with no waiting list.
- The same stadium is open on other weekends. Union’s women are in the top flight and play every home game at the Alte Försterei. Standing is €12, on free sale.
- Hertha has no normal box office. Its only desks are for disabled visitors and season-ticket instalment payers; everyone else scans a QR poster at the gate. Union has one, but for women’s games and men’s friendlies, and it adds €2.
- Six of the nine teams here sell at the ground on the day — from the top flight to the fifth tier, all between €8 and €15.
- Your ticket is not a BVG ticket. Neither Union nor Hertha runs a combined travel ticket.
How we checked
Every price, league and box-office rule below comes from the club’s own website, read in September 2026, not from a reseller or a listings site. League placings were cross-checked against the NOFV, which runs the fourth and fifth tiers, because promotion and relegation move these clubs every May. Anything we could not confirm is flagged rather than guessed.

Cheapest adult price for a normal league match, and whether the club will sell you one at the ground on the day. Tier 1 is the Bundesliga, tier 5 the Oberliga.

Union women — the pick
Wrong for you if you specifically wanted a men’s Bundesliga match, or you assumed a top-flight ticket had to be difficult.
Union’s women came up in 2025 and play in the Frauen-Bundesliga, the top division — at the Alte Försterei, the same 22,012-capacity ground, 18,395 of it standing, that the men use. A standing ticket is €12 and the club states those prices are final: no booking fee, no system fee. A seat is €20, €25 or €30 depending on the block.
And you can simply buy one. The club’s own price page says women’s home tickets are “in der Regel im freien Verkauf erhältlich” — normally on open sale. Turn up without one and the box office adds €2. Top-division football, in the ground everyone wants to visit, for the price of a cinema ticket.

Union men — the closed door
Wrong for you if you are not already a member and the match is this month.
Union’s men are in the Bundesliga and their day tickets are not sold. They are drawn. The club’s price page puts it in one sentence: “Für die Heimspiele der Männer werden die Tageskarten unter den Vereins-Mitgliedern verlost” — day tickets are raffled among club members. You log into the ballot shop, add one lot, and wait. One lot per member, every lot equal.
Membership is €120 a year for an adult, €60 reduced, and it buys a lottery entry rather than a ticket. Season tickets are no alternative: sold out, with no waiting list. Nor is the club’s own resale exchange — it only runs for sold-out matches, and the shop tells you to sign in with a member account to see the fixture at all.
That leaves three routes. Be given a ticket by a member, who can legally transfer one from 30 days down to 150 minutes before kick-off. Go to a friendly, the one category Union says can go into free sale. Or buy hospitality: for a men’s league match the Schlosserei is €350 and the Eisern Lounge €500, children aged 7 to 14 €99, all plus VAT. That is the real cost of walking into a men’s Bundesliga game in Berlin without a membership.
The prices are low: €14 to €16 standing, €33 to €48 seated, plus €1 advance-sale and €2 system fee. That is the frustrating part. It is not an expensive ticket. It is an unavailable one.
Hertha BSC — 73,856 seats, no box office
Wrong for you if you want atmosphere in proportion to the building, or you were planning to pay at a window.
Hertha are in their fourth straight season in the 2. Bundesliga, at the Olympiastadion, which the club says holds 73,856. Tickets go on member presale and then into general sale, capped at ten per person. The Ostkurve standing terrace is the exception: €17 flat in every price band, and the club’s own price list marks it ausverkauft, taken by season tickets.
The published list then drops to €20 for blocks 18–20 and J/K in the cheapest of three match categories. Do not count on it: for both home games Hertha has priced this season the club announced a range of €30 to €75 — so the €20 row is a number on paper rather than one to plan around.
The thing to know: there is no general box office. Hertha’s matchday page lists only a disabled-visitors desk and a season-ticket payments desk, both at the Südtor. Everyone else buys on their phone, from QR codes on poster boards at the south and east gates. That needs a charged phone and a signal in a crowd of tens of thousands, so buy before you leave home.

Three fifth-tier grounds — €8 to €12
Wrong for you if you need a famous name on the teamsheet. Right for you if you want to decide at lunchtime that you are going to a match.
Tennis Borussia, at Charlottenburg’s Mommsenstadion, is the cheapest ticket in this guide at €8 and the simplest: as a rule one ticket gives free choice of where you stand or sit, so nobody decodes block letters. Children up to 12 go free, the club keeps a pool of donated tickets for anyone who cannot afford entry, and it is a few minutes from S-Bahnhof Messe Süd.
SV Lichtenberg 47 is the most predictable for a first visit, because it publishes both its gate policy and its opening time: the box office opens 60 minutes before kick-off, at Ruschestraße 90, and a ticket is €12. The ground, which the club now calls the HOWOGE-Arena “Hans Zoschke”, holds 9,900.
Berliner AK 07 plays at the Poststadion in Moabit, ten minutes’ walk from Hauptbahnhof — the most central ground on this list. Its own site carries two adult prices: €10 on the ticket page, last touched in June 2025, and €11 on an FAQ page untouched since January 2023. The newer figure is €10, but neither carries a season label, so take €11 and expect change. Gate sales are confirmed on the club’s Tageskarten page. Note the Poststadion bans every bottle, plastic included — only a soft drinks carton up to 0.25 litres gets in.
BFC Dynamo and Viktoria
Wrong for you if you want a quiet afternoon, or you came looking for Viktoria’s men.
BFC Dynamo play the highest football of anyone here outside the two professional clubs, in the Regionalliga Nordost, at the Stadion im Sportforum in Alt-Hohenschönhausen. Entry is €15 with free choice of seat or terrace — though not the Tribüne or VIP areas — €10 reduced, and tickets go on sale at the ground 90 minutes before kick-off. Concessions are withdrawn for matches the club designates high-risk, so bring the full €15. East Berlin football with a long and contested history, and it is loud.
Viktoria Berlin needs untangling, because two teams share the name. The men dropped into the sixth-tier Berlin-Liga for 2026/27 and publish no ticket prices at all. The women are the story: 2. Frauen-Bundesliga at the Stadion Lichterfelde, €10, under-15s free with a booked zero-euro ticket, and a contingent held back for the gate. Their next two home dates are 19 September and 18 October, both 14:00, and they host Hertha’s women on 8 November.
What nobody tells you about matchday
Your ticket is not a travel ticket. Union answer it directly in their FAQ: no, you need a valid fare for public transport. Hertha dropped their combined ticket and have not brought it back, pointing at the Deutschlandticket instead. Several German clubs do include travel. Neither Berlin club does.
Cash still works at both big grounds. Union take cash and cards at the box office, fan shops and catering; Hertha’s fixed kiosks take cash alongside contactless. That is not true of every stadium in Germany.
Bags are what stops people at the gate. Hertha allow a bag no larger than A4 and no deeper than 15cm; anything bigger goes to the bag drop for €5. The lower-league grounds ban hard or breakable bottles, cups and cans; Berliner AK bans plastic ones too.
And a word on terraces, since Berlin is full of them. You buy a sector, not a spot: arrive half an hour early, pick a barrier, stay near it. If that sounds like a lot, the seated blocks at Union’s women’s games are the softer landing, and at Tennis Borussia one €8 ticket lets you move between terrace and stand. How we chose these
Nine teams from seven clubs, on one test: can the person reading this actually get in — which means the club publishes a price and a way to buy one. Both second-tier women’s sides are in, because most English guides leave them out. Berlin has more football than this: several other clubs play in the fourth and fifth tiers here, and they are missing only because we could not confirm a current price from their own websites this month.
Two are left out on purpose. VSG Altglienicke carry a Berlin name and play in the Regionalliga Nordost, but their home ground since 2025/26 is in Fürstenwalde, roughly 45km out — a day trip, and we have routes out of the city for that. Turbine Potsdam, 40 to 50 minutes away by S7 and bus, play in the same division as Viktoria’s and Hertha’s women, but are not in Berlin and their published prices still carry last season’s label.

Can I buy Union Berlin tickets without being a member?
Not for a men’s league match. The club raffles men’s day tickets among its members, one lot each. A non-member has three routes: a member transferring a ticket, a friendly, or hospitality, which for a men’s league match is €350 or €500 plus VAT. The club’s resale exchange needs a member login. Union’s women’s matches are normally on free sale to anyone.
How much is a ticket at the Alte Försterei?
For the men, €14 to €16 standing and €33 to €48 seated, plus €1 advance-sale and €2 system fee, if you win the ballot. For the women’s Bundesliga matches in the same stadium, €12 standing and €20 to €30 seated, and the club states those are final prices. The box office adds €2 on the day.
Does Hertha BSC have a box office on matchday?
Not a general one. The club’s matchday page lists only a desk for disabled visitors and a desk for season-ticket instalment payers, both at the Südtor. Anyone deciding late buys on their phone, from QR codes on poster boards at the south and east gates.
Is public transport included in a Berlin football ticket?
No, at neither club. Union state in their FAQ that you need a separate valid fare. Hertha withdrew their combined ticket and have not reinstated it, pointing supporters at the Deutschlandticket instead. Budget for a BVG fare on top.
What is the cheapest football match in Berlin?
Of the nine teams in this guide, Tennis Borussia at €8, with one ticket covering both the terrace and the seated Tribüne as a rule, and free entry for children up to 12. Hertha’s women advertise standing from €8 too, but have no box office, so that one must be bought in advance online or at a Hertha fanshop.
Which Berlin club plays in the women’s Bundesliga?
1. FC Union Berlin, and only Union. They were promoted in 2025 and play every home match of the 2026/27 season at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei. Hertha BSC and FC Viktoria Berlin both play a division below, in the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga.
