Ice skating in Berlin: 6 rinks, two skaters from €20
Ice skating in Berlin: six rinks with checked 2026/27 dates. Neukölln opens 31 Oct, Lankwitz 1 Nov. Two adults pay €20 to €33 for entry plus skates.
Ice skating in Berlin has six rinks where we could verify 2026/27 dates on the operator’s own pages. The Sportforum was due to open on 12 October, Neukölln opens on 31 October and Lankwitz on 1 November. Two adults pay €20 to €33 for entry plus skates.
It is a Tuesday in mid-October and the first frost is still a rumour. The calendar says otherwise: the first of the six rinks below was due to open on 12 October, and most of the rest open within five weeks. We read each rink’s own page on 13 October so you do not have to guess which ones are real this year.
The short version
- The Sportforum (indoor, Hohenschönhausen) announced a start on 12 October, provisional because of construction. Check before you go.
- Eisstadion Neukölln is the cheapest for two: €20 for entry plus two hours of hire each. Free open ice on 30 October from 15:00 to 18:00.
- Eisbahn Rübezahl is the covered, glazed rink, at €30 for two with skates, from the second weekend of November.
- Three rinks have no confirmed 2026/27 season yet (Charlottenburg, Wedding, Wilmersdorf). Do not plan around them.
- The Friedrichshagen opening date is 27 or 30 November, depending on which of its own pages you read. Ask before you travel.
Ice skating in Berlin, rink by rink
These six are the rinks where we could verify the operator’s own 2026/27 dates and prices. Event rinks (Winterquartier Berlin, Strandbad Wendenschloss, Dark Matter Winterlights) and Christmas-market rinks are not in the table. Dates are roughly in opening order. The last column is our own sum for two adults: entry plus skate hire, at the price the operator lists. Reduced tickets, season cards and Berliner FamilienPass deals are not in it.
| Rink | Season 2026/27 | Adult entry | Skate hire | Two adults, entry + skates |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sportforum, Konrad-Wolf-Str. 39 (indoor) | Due 12 Oct, provisional; no end date | €4 | €7 per pair per session | €22 |
| Eisstadion Neukölln, Oderstr. 182 | 31 Oct to 14 Mar | €4 | €3.50 for 1 h, €6 for 2 h (hire page not season-dated) | €20 (2 h hire) |
| Eisbahn Lankwitz, Leonorenstr. 37 | 1 Nov to 15 Mar | €7 | €7 | €28 |
| Winterwelt Grünau, Sportpromenade 9 | 13 Nov to 14 Feb | €5.50 Wed/Thu, €8 Sun, €11 Fri/Sat | €5.50 per pair for 2 h | €22 Wed/Thu, €27 Sun, €33 Fri/Sat, plus online booking fees |
| Eisbahn Rübezahl, Müggelheimer Damm 143 (covered) | From the second weekend of Nov; to Feb per the rink page (site menu says to March) | €9 | €6 | €30 |
| Eisstrand Friedrichshagen, Müggelseedamm 216 | Late Nov (27 or 30 Nov, see below); prices page says to 31 Jan | €8 Tue–Fri in term time, €10 weekends and holidays | €5 | €26 weekday, €30 weekend |

Our one original number: of these six, the cheapest pair of adults pays €20 (Neukölln) and the dearest €33 (Grünau on a Friday or Saturday, before online booking fees). The gap is €13. Hire periods differ by rink, so read the table as a guide, not a like-for-like price.
Eisstadion Neukölln: our pick for price
Entry is €4 for adults and €2 reduced, and children under four are free. The district sells a collective card at €20 (€10 reduced) that the city’s fee schedule describes as usable by several people at once. Three visits as a pair is six entries: €20 on the card against €24 at the till. Free open ice runs on 30 October from 15:00 to 18:00.
One caution. The opening-hours page is still headed “Saison 2025/26” although the main page announces 2026/27. Last season the hours were Monday to Saturday 9–13, 15–18 and 19–21:30, Sundays 9–13 and 14–17. Treat those as probable, not confirmed. In our view this is the rink to start with if you have never been: it is the cheapest, and an unlucky first hour costs you very little.
Six rinks, six prices, and the same trick on all of them: it is easier with someone beside you. Nobody wants to be the only one wobbling, and at Neukölln the shared card makes a regular pair cheaper. Sportforum and Lankwitz: an indoor hall and a 1 November opener
The Sportforum is an indoor speed-skating hall, so the weather does not matter. Evening sessions run 19–21 Monday to Saturday; Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday evening and school holidays are online-ticket only. The operator describes Monday to Thursday mornings (10:30–12:30) as mainly school classes, Saturday 16–18 and Sunday 15–17 as mainly families, and Sunday 10:30–12:30 is also marked mainly for families. Rental needs ID or €50 cash as a deposit, lockers take a €1 chip, and payment on site is cash only. If you want grown-up company rather than school classes or families, the 19–21 evening slots are the ones to aim for.
Eisbahn Lankwitz is a 1,800 square metre rink. It opens on 1 November and runs to 15 March, Monday 10–13, Tuesday to Thursday 10–14:30, Friday 10–18, Saturday 12–21 and Sunday 12–18. At €7 entry it costs €3 more than Neukölln. It also sells a €3 ticket for a companion who is not skating, which suits a pair where one person would rather hold the coffees.

Grünau, Rübezahl and Friedrichshagen: the ones with a bit of atmosphere
Winterwelt Grünau opens on 13 November and runs to 14 February, with huts around a 1,000 square metre rink. It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, apart from a few dates in the holidays. Prices are before online booking fees, and hire is €5.50 per pair for two hours. Entry is €5.50 on Wednesdays and Thursdays, €8 on Sundays and €11 on Fridays and Saturdays, with children aged 4 to 12 at €5.50 from Friday to Sunday. Tickets are online only and the site is cashless. If you want the huts, we would go on a Thursday: it is the same rink for half the Saturday entry price.
Eisbahn Rübezahl in Köpenick is covered and glazed, so rain does not cancel it. It opens from the second weekend of November and, per the operator, runs to February on the rink page, while the site menu says March. Entry is €9 (children up to 14, €6), hire €6. Tuesday to Friday it opens 14:30–18, and at weekends and school holidays there are three sessions, 10–13, 13:30–16:30 and 17–20. With the Sportforum, it is the one we would pick for a day when the forecast is bad.
Eisstrand Friedrichshagen is a 600 square metre rink at the Müggelsee with five 90-minute sessions a day, from 9 to 18:30. Its own pages disagree on the start: the banner on its home page says 27 November, while the group-registration box on its home page and the prices page say 30 November to 31 January 2027. Entry is €8 on Tuesday to Friday outside school and public holidays and €10 at weekends and in holidays, hire €5. Monday opening is unclear on the operator’s own pages. We would not travel out there before the operator has confirmed the date.
Two skaters, two skills, one slow lap. Once you know which rink and which weekday you want, the hard part is finding the person. Post it on MITRA with the rink and the hour, and you decide who joins. Get MITRA on Google Play · Download on the App Store
What is not confirmed for 2026/27
Three municipal rinks have no confirmed 2026/27 season on the pages we could read, and we left them out of the table rather than guess.
- Eissporthalle Charlottenburg (PO9): berlin.de says it will open in 2026/27 but lists the dates as “not yet known”, and the district’s own page has no dates or prices.
- Erika-Heß-Eisstadion in Wedding: berlin.de says the outdoor rink has been available again since 2026. We found no 2026/27 dates.
- Horst-Dohm-Eisstadion in Wilmersdorf: the district page still shows inline-skating hours until 18 September 2026 and no ice dates. berlin.de expects November 2026 to early March 2027, which we could not confirm with the operator.
Christmas-market rinks run on different dates and are covered in our Berlin Christmas markets guide. For what else is on, see Berlin events in November 2026 and Berlin events in December 2026.

Going with someone
Skating is easier with a second person who is also bad at it. One of you checks the sessions, the other brings gloves, and you meet at the rink gate. If you want the rest of a cold-weather plan, our winter in Berlin guide covers daylight, and a cheap weekend in Berlin shows what a costed two-day plan looks like.
You have the rink, the price and the hour. The one thing the rinks do not sell is the person. On MITRA you post a place and a time, and you decide who joins. Get MITRA on Google Play · Download on the App Store

Rinks hold ice for one season at a time, so check an opening date again the week you go. This guide goes out of date as the rinks close: Friedrichshagen’s prices page says 31 January 2027, then Grünau in mid-February, Rübezahl in February or March, and Neukölln and Lankwitz in mid-March.
Prices and dates were read on the operators’ own pages on 13 October 2026. The three unconfirmed rinks come from berlin.de and district pages, and the collective-card terms from the city fee schedule. Where berlin.de and an operator differ, we followed the operator.
