Ballet in Berlin 2026/27: which of 9 shows to book
Two ballet seats in Berlin start at €20 this winter. We compare the Staatsballett with the touring Swan Lakes and Nutcrackers. Checked October 2026.

Ballet in Berlin this winter starts at €10 a seat: the Staatsballett’s 2 Chapters Love at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, so €20 for two (face value) on four dates. Its new Nutcracker at the Deutsche Oper starts at €12, on two Sunday matinees.
The touring Swan Lakes and Nutcrackers are another story. One advertises “from €12.50”, the venue’s standard ticket starts at €29.95, and the cheapest adult seat we found on Eventim was €42.95.

The Staatsballett Berlin is the city’s own company and dances at three opera houses. Touring companies fill the bigger halls at Christmas. Prices below are the official ones from the company or venue, checked on 25 October 2026; where the organiser publishes none, we say so and give the Eventim price, which includes fees.

The “from” price on a touring show is not what two adults pay
Grand Classic Ballet’s own schedule shows “from €12.50” for every Berlin date. The Uber Eats Music Hall lists its standard ticket from €29.95. On Eventim on 25 October, the cheapest adult seat for the 21 December Nutcracker and the 25 December Swan Lake was €42.95; children aged 4 to 14 started at €22.16 on 21 December. We could not see which ticket the €12.50 refers to. Two adults on Eventim: at least €85.90.
At the Staatsballett the date matters more than the seat. Its Nutcracker floor runs from €12 (the 15:00 shows on 6 December and 24 January) to €52 on the first night. On 25 October, 11 of the 12 dates before New Year showed only remaining tickets; all five January dates were on normal sale.

Going with someone
Ballet in Berlin suits two people who do not know each other well yet, because the evening hands you the conversation. The Staatsballett’s Nutcracker runs 2 hours 15 minutes with one interval, and 2 Chapters Love 1 hour 30 minutes with one. Wunderkammer (1 hour 10 minutes) and the Babylon Nutcracker (about 80 minutes) have no interval, so plan a drink after instead.
The Staatsballett also gives an introduction 45 minutes before these performances: an easy reason to meet early. Our count of the cheapest two seats, from the prices above:

Which one we would book
For a classic first ballet, we would book the Staatsballett’s Nutcracker on Sunday 24 January at 15:00: normal sale, seats from €12, live orchestra of the Deutsche Oper, and the evening free for dinner. For something modern in December, 2 Chapters Love on 21 December, from €10.
If it must be Swan Lake, the Staatsballett has none this winter, so it is a touring company; Grand Classic Ballet has four Berlin dates and a live orchestra. If you want short and unusual, the Babylon Nutcracker starts as a film and turns into live ballet in the same hall.
We would skip buying any show on its “from” price alone. Open the seat map first.
Cheaper ways into the Staatsballett
- Under 30 in education or training: 50% off, subject to availability, from four weeks before the performance.
- Family performances: the 15:00 Nutcracker shows on 6 December and 24 January, where under-18s pay €10.
- ClassicCard (under 30): €28 a year, then ballet seats for €18 in advance or €13 from two hours before.
- TanzTicket: €35 for 20% off Staatsballett performances for the season; it pays only if you go several times.

Where can I see ballet in Berlin?
The Staatsballett Berlin dances at the Deutsche Oper, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Komische Oper at the Schillertheater. At Christmas, touring companies add Swan Lake and Nutcracker shows at the Uber Eats Music Hall and the Admiralspalast, and the Berlin Ballet Company plays a Nutcracker at the Babylon cinema.
How much are ballet tickets in Berlin?
At the Staatsballett this winter, seats run from €10 (2 Chapters Love) to €186 (the Nutcracker first night). Touring shows cost more at the bottom: the cheapest adult seats we found on Eventim were €42.95 to €84.
Is there Swan Lake in Berlin this winter?
Not from the Staatsballett. Grand Classic Ballet dances Swan Lake at the Uber Eats Music Hall on 22, 25, 26 and 27 December, and Crown Ballet at the Admiralspalast on 5 December.
Is the Staatsballett Nutcracker sold out?
Not fully. On 25 October, 11 of the 12 dates before New Year showed only remaining tickets, while all five January dates, from €12 to €27 at the bottom, were on normal sale.
