Thanksgiving in Berlin falls on Thursday 26 November 2026, a working day. Four dinners have 2026 prices: the American Church gala from €35 (21 November), JW Marriott and Schlosshotel at €99, and the Berlin Marriott at €107 with drinks.
The catch: Hard Rock Cafe sells its Thanksgiving without a price, and a well-known dinner still shows last year’s date. For two people the real choice is €70 at a church gala, €198 to €214 at a hotel, or hosting Friendsgiving yourself.

Zollpackhof in Mitte runs a well-known Thanksgiving dinner too, but on 27 October its page still showed the 2025 date and price, so it is not in the table. Check its page again in November.

Thanksgiving is a working day, so the Thursday dinners start at 18:00
Thanksgiving is not a public holiday in Germany. Berlin’s holiday law sets ten annual public holidays and neither Thanksgiving nor Erntedank, the German church harvest festival, is among them; Erntedank is usually celebrated on the first Sunday of October anyway. So on 26 November most guests come straight from work, which is why all three Thursday hotel dinners start at 18:00.
That is also why the two weekend options matter. The American Church gala is on Saturday 21 November and Hard Rock’s brunch on Saturday 28 November: no alarm the next morning, and time to travel across town.
Which one we would book
For a first Thanksgiving in Berlin, or for bringing someone who has never had one, we would book the American Church gala: €35 a seat, a full turkey dinner and a concert, on a Saturday. Of the four dinners with a published price, it is the cheapest by far.
For the real Thursday with a carved turkey, we would pick JW Marriott with drinks: €139 covers the buffet and beverages, while Schlosshotel’s €99 plus €29 wine pairing already comes to €128 before a welcome glass. The Berlin Marriott’s buffet is €107 with drinks included and runs until 23:00: the best value for a group, though its page does not mention a carving station. We would skip Schlosshotel if you are going alone: its main course is a dish for two or more people to share.
We would wait on Hard Rock until it publishes prices.
Going with someone
On 30 June 2026, 20,944 people with US citizenship lived in Berlin, according to the state statistics office, and that count leaves out German-American dual citizens. Thanksgiving is a family holiday, and when family is an ocean away it is one of the dinners best shared with friends, colleagues and people you have only just met.
A Thanksgiving table works best with people who did not grow up with it: someone carves, someone explains the sweet potato with marshmallows, and the conversation looks after itself. If you book a Thursday dinner for two, the €198 is the price of the most traditional version; the Saturday gala at €70 for two is the easiest way to bring a friend who is curious but not sure.

Hosting Friendsgiving in Berlin instead
Hosting is the cheaper way to do Thanksgiving in Berlin for a group, but it takes planning. We could not find a Berlin shop that has published 2026 turkey prices or order deadlines yet, so call a butcher in early November and order the bird rather than hoping to find one on the day.
- Pick Saturday 28 November. Thursday is a working day; Saturday gives you the afternoon to cook.
- Pies: Barcomi’s in Kreuzberg has a Thanksgiving page with pumpkin, apple, pecan and walnut pies and a pumpkin cheesecake. It shows no 2026 prices yet; you order through its online shop (minimum order €50), for collection in Kreuzberg or delivery across Berlin.
- Takeaway turkey dinner: the Berlin Marriott’s Midtown Grill sells a “Turkey To Go” with stuffing, sides and pumpkin pie at €178 for four (€24 per extra person, up to eight), pickup only, ordered by email at least two business days ahead (9 November to 26 December). Hard Rock Cafe Berlin offers takeaway with pickup from 25 to 28 November; it has not published a price.
- Make it a potluck. You cook the turkey, guests bring the sides, and nobody pays a hotel price.

- American Church gala, Sat 21 November: tickets from €35 on Eventbrite via the church’s gala page; reduced tickets for students and people on social benefits by email to the pastor.
- JW Marriott, Thu 26 November: buy the ticket in the hotel’s ticket shop, then reserve a table on OpenTable. The ticket is not valid without a reservation.
- Schlosshotel Berlin, Thu 26 November: “Secure your ticket” on the hotel’s Thanksgiving page.
- Berlin Marriott Hotel, Thu 26 November: reservation required, by email, phone or SevenRooms, via the Midtown Grill festive-season page.
