Jazz clubs in Berlin: 7 clubs, jams from €3 a head
Jazz clubs in Berlin, checked October 2026: b-flat’s Wednesday jam is €3 each, A-Trane concerts €20 to €35. Seven clubs, jam nights and who takes bookings.
Jazz clubs in Berlin run live music most nights of the week, and two people can get in free at A-Trane’s Monday night on 26 October, or for €6 at b-flat’s Wednesday jam (€3 each). A headline set at A-Trane costs up to €35 a head. Here are seven clubs, six of them with published prices.
A wet Wednesday in late October. You could stay in, or you could be on a bar stool in Mitte at nine, watching a bassist count in a tune nobody rehearsed. We read every club’s own programme on 21 October 2026, so the prices below are this autumn’s, not last year’s.
The short version
- Cheapest paid night for two: b-flat’s jam session, every Wednesday from 21:00, €3 each.
- Free: Yorckschlösschen in Kreuzberg passes a hat instead of charging (it asks for at least €5 each), and A-Trane’s Monday night with Andreas Schmidt and Friends on 26 October is free.
- The listening room: A-Trane in Charlottenburg, €20 to €35 for the concerts we checked, seats reserved online.
- Jazzfest Berlin runs 29 October to 1 November. On all four nights A-Trane takes no reservations; its door sale starts at 18:45 and entry is not guaranteed.
- Booking: five of the seven take reservations in some form. Quasimodo takes none.

Jazz clubs in Berlin compared
Prices are taken from concerts each club lists for late October and November 2026. Most clubs price every night differently, so read them as examples, not fixed rates. The last column is our own sum: the cheapest night we found, for two people.

Our one original number: of the six clubs that publish a price, a night out for two costs €6 at the cheapest paid door (b-flat’s jam) and €70 at the dearest jazz concerts we found in the clubs’ own rooms (A-Trane on 23 October, matched by Zig Zag on 15 November). That is more than eleven times as much, for the same two hours of live music. Zig Zag’s separate new stage, Zig Zag Hall, charges more for its bigger names.

A-Trane: the room you go to for the music
A-Trane has been at Bleibtreustraße 1, on the corner of Pestalozzistraße, since 1992. Most concerts start at 20:30; on Sundays in winter time the doors open at 17:00 and the music starts at 18:00. The three nights we checked cost €25 (€20 for students) on 21 October, €35 (€30) for Keith Tynes and Band on 23 October and €20 (€15) on 28 October. Monday 26 October, Andreas Schmidt and Friends, is free.
Seats are reserved online only, never by phone, and you pay at the box office on the night. There is a waiting list for full nights. During Jazzfest, 29 October to 1 November, the club takes no reservations or advance sales of its own. The door sale starts at 18:45, doors open at 19:00, music starts at 20:00, and entry is not guaranteed. Our verdict: the place to take someone who actually wants to listen, and the Monday free night is the cheapest way to find out whether you do.
b-flat: the Wednesday jam for €3
b-flat at Dircksenstraße 40 in Mitte opened in 1995 and has a concert or event on most nights, with no fixed style. Doors are at 20:00 and the band starts at 21:00. Afrikadelle on 24 October costs €25 (€20 reduced); Krisper, electric jazz, on 27 October costs €20 (€15).
The reason to know about b-flat is Robins Nest, the jam session bassist Robin Draganić has run every Wednesday since 1999. It starts at 21:00 and the club’s listing for 28 October puts entry at €3. There is no online shop; to reserve, email mail@b-flat-berlin.de or ring +49 30 283 31 23. Our verdict: the best-value night on this list, and a jam is easier company than a concert because you can talk between tunes.
Kunstfabrik Schlot: a cellar near Nordbahnhof
The Schlot has existed since 1993 and now sits in the Edison Höfe at Invalidenstraße 117, with a second entrance from Schlegelstraße 26. It opens an hour before each programme. Many weeknight concerts cost €15 (€10 reduced), for example Heike Duncker Trio on 26 October, and weekend bands €20 (€15), such as Larry Porter Quartet on 31 October. Most start at 21:00.
The cheap way in is the Schlot Session on Monday 2 November: €12 (€8 reduced) with the opening set, or €5 for the session alone. You reserve a ticket through each event’s page, except for free events, which are first come, first seated. Our verdict: the most jazz for the money in Mitte, and the Monday session is an easy first meeting.
A €3 jam on Wednesday, a €5 session on Monday: the cheap nights are the ones you can talk through. If you would rather not stand at the bar alone, post the night on MITRA and someone who likes the same music can join you. Get MITRA on Google Play · Download on the App Store
Zig Zag Jazz Club: Friedenau, with a members’ half price
Zig Zag is at Hauptstraße 89, open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday 19:00 to midnight, and Friday and Saturday 19:00 to 00:30, though its programme also lists some Monday concerts. It won the Initiative Musik venue prize in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2021. The Django Reinhardt Orchestra with Joscho Stephan plays two shows on 29 October, at 18:00 and 20:30, for €25. Jeremy Pelt Quintet on 15 November costs €35. Members pay half. Some bigger November names play the club’s new second stage, Zig Zag Hall on the EUREF-Campus, so check which room a ticket is for.
The Tuesday jam (27 October, 10 and 24 November), hosted by Uri Gincel, costs €20 from 20:00 with two drinks included, or €10 from 22:00 with one drink, if there is room. There is no online ticket for the jam: reserve through the club’s form and pay cash at the door, or just turn up. Seats are first come, first served either way. Our verdict: the jam after 22:00 is a fair deal once you count the drink; the headline nights are for people who already know the name on the poster.
Quasimodo: late, loud and more than jazz
Quasimodo has been under the Delphi Filmpalast at Kantstraße 12a since 1975. It began as a jazz cellar; today the calendar mixes jazz with blues, rock, soul and funk. Its FAQ says concerts generally start at 22:30, but the November listings we read say doors 20:30 and music at 22:00, so go by the event page. Nighthawks on 6 November costs €25 at the door (from €20 plus fees in advance); the Jazz Night with Flow Rea on 20 November is €20 at the door (from €16 plus fees in advance).
There are no table or seat reservations; you buy through the links on each event page, and the box office opens on the night if tickets are left. Under-16s are not admitted, 16 and 17-year-olds only with a parent, guardian or an adult they authorise, the cloakroom is €2 an item and the club is not step-free. During Jazzfest it hosts late sets at 22:30 from 29 October to 1 November. Our verdict: pick a night that is actually billed as jazz, and go when you want to stay out late.

Yorckschlösschen: a Kreuzberg pub where the band passes a hat
Yorckschlösschen at Yorckstraße 15 opens daily from 18:00, with the kitchen open to 22:00, or 22:30 on event and weekend nights. Its concerts start at 20:00 and are free: the band passes a hat and the pub asks for at least €5 a person. The site lists live nights as Wednesday to Saturday on one page and a slightly different pattern on another, so check the calendar. Coming up are The Swinging Hermlins on 29 October, The FAT SIX on 12 November and The Toughest Tenors on 13 November.
Reserving a table a few days ahead is recommended, by phone from 17:00 (030 215 80 70) or through the online form. Your whole group has to be there by 19:30, and groups over 15 are not taken. Our verdict: the friendliest room on the list for a first night, with dinner, swing and no ticket to lose.
Donau115: small, Neukölln, experimental
Donau115 at Donaustraße 115 calls itself a place for “music and experiments” and opens from 19:30. It is near U7 Rathaus Neukölln and U8 Boddinstraße. Its calendar shows something most nights, including a Thursday Jazz Jam (doors 19:30, opening set 20:00, jam 21:00) and Two-Song Tuesday, where music starts at 20:00. The site lists no entry prices, so we cannot give you one. Our verdict: go for the Thursday jam if you like your jazz loose, and ask at the bar what the door is.
Going with someone
Jazz is a good thing to do with someone you do not know well yet. There is something to look at, nobody expects you to talk during a solo, and between sets you already have a topic. In our view the jam sessions work best for this: b-flat on Wednesday, Zig Zag on its jam Tuesdays and Donau115 on Thursday. People drift in and out, the music changes every tune, and leaving after the first set is normal. If one of you plays, bring the instrument. A concert at A-Trane is the opposite: book two seats, arrive early and save the conversation for the walk to Savignyplatz.
If jazz is not quite it, our guide to choirs in Berlin covers seven that take new singers, and concerts in Berlin 2027 lists the big arena nights. For a whole evening without a pint at the centre of it, see how to meet people in Berlin without drinking.
What we would skip
We would not plan a first jazz night around Jazzfest weekend unless you are set on the festival itself. From 29 October to 1 November A-Trane has no reservations and no guarantee of entry, and the festival centres on the Haus der Berliner Festspiele. The week after is quieter. We would also skip any Quasimodo night not billed as jazz if jazz is what you came for, and we would not cross town to Donau115 without checking that night’s listing first.
How we chose these
We started from berlin.de’s list of jazz clubs, picked six of its nine, added Quasimodo, which hosts Jazzfest nights, and used only clubs whose own website shows a current programme with dates. Silent Jazz Bar, Badenscher Hof and Junction Bar are on the same list and worth a look too. Prices are taken from concerts listed for late October and November 2026, never from listings sites. Kunstfabrik Schlot and Donau115 load their calendars with JavaScript, so we read both in a full browser. We also looked at Sowieso in Neukölln but could not load a website we could confirm as its own. For more nights out, see Berlin events in November 2026.
