Darts in Berlin costs from €6 an hour to hire a board at Bata Bar & Billiards by Hauptbahnhof, outside Friday, Saturday and pre-holiday nights: €3 each for two. We checked six places where you can book a board.

The catch: that €6 is printed in Bata’s drinks-menu PDF, and Lane7 publishes no darts price at all. At four of the six you hire the board by the hour, so the price halves the moment you bring someone.

Darts is a game you play against someone, so it is simply better with a second person: see Going with someone.

Prices as each venue published them on 23 October 2026, per board per hour. “For two” is our split of that price between two players. “Not published” means we found no darts price on the venue’s own site, menus or booking pages.

You hire the board, not a seat

Billard House says it outright: the price is per device, “regardless of how many people play”, billed to the minute. The Darterei lists its prices “per hour per board”, and Bata’s Hauptbahnhof menu lists darts under hire (“Miete”) by the hour, which implies the same. So one player alone pays the full €6 to €24; two pay half each; four pay a quarter.

So a Monday-to-Thursday hour at Bata by Hauptbahnhof is €3 each for two, a Tuesday afternoon at Billard House €3.95 each, and a Thursday night at the Darterei €9 each, plus €4.50 each if you both hire darts there. For comparison, a pool table at Billard House costs €13.90 an hour on a Tuesday evening; the dart board in the same room costs €9.90.

If darts suits you, the same kind of evening works at a pub quiz in Berlin or one of the board game cafés in Berlin.

Going with someone

Darts gives two people something to do between the sentences. One of you throws, the other stands at the line and does the subtraction, then you swap. Nobody has to fill a silence, a bad throw is a joke rather than an embarrassment, and the maths is a shared problem. It is one of the easier first meetings with someone you only know from a chat.

It scales, too. Where you hire the board by the hour, every extra player makes the hour cheaper for everyone; Lane7 books a private board for up to six, though its prices are per person. The Darterei’s tournament calendar has a Beginners Cup and a doubles format, Das Darterei Doppel, which you can only enter as a pair.

Steel tip or soft tip?

Steel-tip is the classic bristle board: metal-pointed darts, and you keep the score yourself unless the board has a camera system such as the Darterei’s Scolia boards. Soft-tip, or E-Darts, uses plastic tips on an electronic board that counts for you. Every venue above that names its boards lists steel-tip or auto-scoring ones; Billard House does not say which kind it has.

For a first night, we would take a board that scores for you. You will spend the hour throwing instead of arguing about whether 501 minus 87 is 414. If you want the league side of things, Dart Palast in Wittenau runs both steel-tip and E-Dart teams; it takes cash only.

Your first game of 501

Under the World Darts Federation rules, the centre of the bull hangs 1.73 metres above the floor, and you throw from 2.37 metres away. Each player throws three darts per turn and subtracts the score from 501.

To win, your last dart has to land in a double (the thin outer ring, or the bullseye, worth 50, which counts as double 25) that takes you to exactly zero. If a turn takes you below zero, leaves you on 1, or reaches zero without a double, it is a bust and the whole turn does not count. We would play the first game without the double rule. Nobody at the next board will mind.

Where we would go

First time, small budget: Bata by Hauptbahnhof from Monday to Thursday, at €6 an hour for the board. It is non-smoking with a separate smoking lounge, and reservations start no later than 19:00. If you want to play at 3 in the morning, Billard House in Friedrichshain is open around the clock, from €7.90 on Tuesday and Thursday daytimes; book by phone, as it does not take requests by email or form.

A proper darts night: the Darterei, Monday to Wednesday at €10 a board. It is the only place here built for darts first, with 17 boards and its own tournaments. Book online.

Central at Alexanderplatz: Bata’s second room, €6.50 an hour, non-smoking and open daily from 12:00. It takes no reservations on Fridays, Saturdays or before holidays, so go early.

We would skip Lane7 if darts is the whole plan: it publishes no darts price, and it is built around bowling and other games. The Shuffleboard Bar, at €10 an hour for a classic board, makes more sense for a group that wants shuffleboard and karaoke in the same night.

Watching the pros: Premier League Darts at the Uber Arena

The PDC Premier League comes to the Uber Arena on Thursday 11 February 2027: doors at 17:30, darts from 19:00, no age limit. Standard tickets start at €56 through AXS, the arena’s official ticket partner; a Premium Seat costs €159 and the Premium Package €259. Eventim* sells only the two premium categories, at €177.90 and €287.90 including its fees, which is dearer than the arena’s own prices.

Links marked * are affiliate links: if you book through them, MITRA earns a small commission. The price is the same for you.

The crowd is not small. SPORT1 reported 2.19 million viewers in Germany for the 2025 World Championship final, peaking at 3.1 million.

Playing in a league

Berlin’s steel-tip leagues run through the Dartverband Berlin. Teams register once a year; the deadline for 2026/27 was 15 August 2026, and new teams start in the lowest division, the Bezirksklasse. As a single beginner, the realistic way in is to join a club or a venue team.

For a tournament without a team, PDC Europe Start is an amateur series that began in August 2026: €6 per tournament plus a €10 player membership per season, from age 12, for players living in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein or Luxembourg.
